CCS PLAYOFFS — BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS II

24 02 2012

We are now into the quarterfinals of the 2012 CCS basketball playoffs — eight teams remain in all five brackets. Basically, we’re getting down to the nitty-gritty here. I don’t don’t don’t mean to brag, but I’m going to take a minute to do so because, well, I’m a bragger sometimes.

A couple of days ago, I gave my CCS basketball predictions for five of the 10 brackets, the ones that pertained the most to the DJ’s coverage area. Let’s see how I did … staying the boys’ brackets.

BOOM, pretty much nailed it. There were 12 possible choices here, nailed 11 of them (damn you, SEASIDE!). “OK, wise guy, but how’d you do in the other brackets? Huh?!

• In girls’ Division III … I went 4 for 4
• In girls’ Division IV … I went 4 for 4

And while we’re on the topic of checking predictions, CCS SOCCER has predictions, too. How’d I do there? Well 6×4= 24 possible picks.

• In boys’ Division I … I went 2 for 4
• In boys’ Division II … I went 2 for 4
• In boys’ Division III … I went 2 for 4
• In girls’ Division I … I went 3 for 4 (little better)
• In girls’ Division II … I went 4 for 4 (BOOM!)
• In girls’ Division III … I went 3 for 4

So for those keeping stats at home, I went 16 for 24 in soccer, for a .667 batting average.

And I went 19 for 20 in basketball, for a .950 batting average. Combined, July! hit .795. I will admit, picking until the quarterfinals in easier. We’ll see how I do semis and finals.
